PIC #12 is from when we were cleaning out our parents' home.
This beautifully polished tray is on the dining room table with other items of theirs.
None of the other items are included in this auction. No candlesticks, no salt cellar, no urn, no furniture, no pictures/paintings, no chairs,
no tables, no desks, no clocks, no lamps ~
    nothing but the tray.
All that is included in this auction is the tray. I only posted pic #12 to show how stunning this tray is.
So here’s the background on this:
In 2003 through eBay, I sold a 7-piece Mexican sterling coffee/tea set of my parents’ to a buyer in Great Britain. Although my folks always displayed that 7 pc set on this tray, I don’t think this tray matched the sold Mexican set but they were both from a Mexico maker and coincidentally
    my folks displayed them
    together.
I vaguely recall my mom telling us that they didn’t match. That doesn't really matter, but now you know the back story.
So, that sale didn’t include this tray – my mom told us to keep it; we’d never find another one. From my investigation she was right. Looked high and low all over the internet for a STERLING tray that heavy but nothing.
Sits on four sturdy feet – no wobbling at all. Great luster and so reflective. Last week I cleaned it a very little with Hagerty Silversmith Gloves.
Gently cleaned off a dark mark (1st pic shows after cleaning the dark line seen in a few of the pics). It was pretty incredible as I watched it disappear right before my eyes. [This is NOT an ad for Hagerty – it’s simply what I used because I have so many of these wonderfully convenient gloves.]
SEE PIC# 12 for how it looked when we cleaned out our parents' home. REMEMBER THAT ONLY THE TRAY IS INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.
There is very little swirling or even surface scratching on this beauty. No defects to catch the eye or even to detract from the sheer beauty. I can see my reflection in the tray – it is just THAT polished and reflective! And who ever heard of a 9# sterling tray other than for a Queen?! REALLY!
Hallmarked Kimberley STERLING on the rear (SEE PIC#7) There is one other area where it has been stamped STERL (yes, STERL and then one stamped RLING

SEE PICS #8 & 9). And on the rim near both handles there is what looks like a hallmark in a small cartouche. I managed to get a good pic of one (SEE PIC #10) but the one near the other handle came out blurry so I’m not posting it.
The weight is an extremely hefty 9.0.08 lbs. (131.25 troy oz.).
This amazing tray is 31 ½” at its longest measurement and just about 20” across. Probably stands at least 3" tall to the top of the handles and the tray "drop" is close to an inch deep. Very impressive.
I have a feeling that this is possibly hand-hammered (SEE PIC #4 with the measuring tape and the
    black
mark) but I am not 100% sure so no guarantee.
The wide 2+" inner border undulates with waves and waves of reflective beauty. (SEE PICS #2 & 3).
The outermost border is scrollwork. (SEE PICS #2 - 5) The handles are smooth so it's extremely easy to hold and very comfortable on the hands, especially for a tray that weighs 9 pounds! Quite show-stopping for displaying your most special sterling hollowware.
By no means did I do a 100% perfect, wonderful polish job on this but ALL the pics were taken after my quick semi-polish with the gloves just to show the waves, the tray area and the hallmarks. The first pic is once I polished away a dark mark/line that you see in some of the subsequent pics.
    I ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE A RESPONSIBLE ADULT'S SIGNATURE
    UPON DELIVERY.
    Buyer pays for
    shipping.
Remember: the tray weighs 9 lbs. and it needs a nearly 3' long
    sturdy
    ,
    huge box
which also has some weight since it will probably be 23" or 24" wide and 4" or 5" tall
    for safe packaging.
I pack very carefully with all sorts of cushioning material. I want it reaching the buyer in the same condition as when it leaves my
    possession.
    Remember:
this auction is ONLY for the KIMBERLEY TRAY
and there must be a responsible adult to sign
for this package when it arrives.
Buyer pays shipping and I will pay
    any shipping cost above ,
plus I WILL PAY FOR INSURANCE
based on the full purchase price.
No bidders or shipping outside of the
    United States.
Sorry.  I will not deal with Customs.
THERE ARE NO RETURNS ON MY
ANTIQUE SILVER, PORCELAIN, CRYSTAL OR GLASS ITEMS.
